Saebi Alternative Building System
Proprietary composite technology that delivers unmatched strength, energy efficiency, and disaster resilience — redefining how the world builds.
The Technology
Like a tortoise shell — hard exterior, resilient core — the SABS system layers a proprietary SABSCRETE cementitious coating over precision-cut expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam panels. The result is a monolithic composite structure with extraordinary strength-to-weight characteristics.
Factory-cut 8′ × 4′ grid panels form walls, floors, and roof components with utility chases built in — eliminating separate framing, sheathing, and insulating trades.
Performance & Resilience
Monolithic composite shell absorbs and distributes seismic forces across the entire structure, outperforming conventional framing.
Flame-spread index ≤ 25, smoke-developed index ≤ 450. Highest fire safety classification.
Tested to withstand winds up to 265 mph. Built for the most demanding regions on earth.
Sealed EPS/SABSCRETE interface eliminates pathways for moisture, mold, mildew, and termites — no wood in the structural envelope.
What We Do
Offices, retail, multi-use — SABS delivers commercial structures with superior envelope performance and accelerated timelines.
Custom homes built with unmatched insulation, soundproofing, and disaster resilience. Designed around your vision.
Integrated design support that works within the SABS system to achieve any architectural style with standard exterior finishes.
From concept to completion under one roof — design, engineering, material supply, and build consolidated into a single partner.
Sustainability & Efficiency
Effective wall insulation value — achieved because the EPS foam core is the structure. No cavity, no thermal bridging, no compromise.
Reduced energy usage
Lumber in structure
Air composition of EPS
Construction waste
The Vision
“To make safe, quality housing affordable and accessible enough to help eliminate homelessness — and to reduce reliance on lumber to mitigate environmental damage from deforestation.”
Dr. Nasser Saebi
Founder & Inventor of SABS
A structural engineer from Tehran who immigrated to the U.S. in 1960, Dr. Saebi conceived the SABS concept during his doctoral studies — inspired by the tortoise shell's marriage of hard exterior and resilient core. After decades of engineering work including Persian Gulf oil rig design, he dedicated his career to proving and certifying this vision.
